camgrab software package provides A command line tool to download a single image from a webcam, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install camgrab
camgrab is installed in your system.
Make ensure the camgrab package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep camgrab *
You will get with camgrab package name, version, architecture and description in a table
